The 8-10 All Star team opened District play with a 24-0 blowout over East Frederick in a game played in Brunswick on Monday, June 26. The Roaders scored 10 runs in the first and second innings for an early 20-0 lead. Colin Pearre had 4 hits and 5 RBI's, with a double and 2 triples. Nick Piermarini had 3 hits. Ethan Houck had 2 hits, including a homer. Jackson Dudley, Jackson Renn, Carson Eye and Sam Verosto also had 2 hits. Pearre and houck threw a combined 2 hitter with 8 K's and 1 walk.
RD 2 Wed, June 28 Brunswick 5 @ Four County 2
The 8-10 All Star travelled to Four County on Wednesday, June 28 and won 5-2. BRLL scored a run in the second and 2 more in the 3rd and 4th for a 5-0 lead before Four County rallied in the fifth to score 2 runs, cutting the lead to 5-2. Collin Pearre led the Railroaders with 2 hits. Houck and Pearre combined on a 7 hitter, striking out 10 and walking 2.
RD 3 Fri, June 30, Brunswick 6 @ Frederick National 0
Colin Pearre threw 5 2/3 of shutout ball against Frederick National on the way to 6-0 win on Thursday at Frederick National.. Pearre allowed 5 hits, struck out 8 and walked 1. Justin Ricketts came in to get the last out when Pearre reached his limit of 75 pitches. The Railroaders scored 3 runs in the third to take the lead. Noah Paschilidis lead off with a hit and scored on a Pearre single. Ethan Houck then parked a two run homer. Pearre knocked in two more in the sixth.
RD 4 Sun, July 2, Lower Montgomery Co 4 @ Brunswick 14
The 8-10 team wrapped up their District 2 run on Sunday, July 2 with a 14-4 victory over Lower Montgomery County. LMC from Bethesda took a 2-0 lead in the top half of the first inning, but the Railroaders responded to being behind for the first time with 4 runs in their half of the first. After Bethesda tied it in the second, Brunswick exploded for 9 runs in the third, the big blows being a 2-run double by Carson Eye, a 3-run double by AJ Moore and a 2-run triple by Colin Pearre. Ethan Houck had a walk off single in the fourth with the bases loaded to end it. Houck had 4 hits and 3 RBI's. Eye had 2 doubles and 3 RBI's, Sam Verosto also had 2 hits. Houck went the first 3 1/3 qnd was relieved by Justin Ricketts who got the last two outs.

Ethan Houck had a first inning 3-run homer and a 2-run double to lead BRLL to an opening round victory in the 2017 State Championships. Colin Pearre had 3 hits, Nick Piermarini had 2 including a double. Kadin Longerbeam had a 2-run double and Zack Via had a 2-run single. Houck started and ran into some trouble in the second. Nate Borawski, Justin Rickets, Brady Renn and Pearre combined for 4 2/3 innings of scoreless relief while allowing just one hit. They combined to strile out 8 and walk 3.
RD 2 Sun, July 16, 3:00PM Elkton (D5) 7 Brunswick (D2) 10
Colin Pearre went 5 innings on the mound in leading BRLL to a game two victory 10-7 over Elkton (D5). Pearre allowed 2 runs on 4 hits with 5 K's and 3 walks. Down 1-0 in the bottom of the second, brunswick scored two runs and never trailed after. Nick Piermarini bunted for a single and scored on a Carson Eye single. AJ Moore singled in Eye for the go ahead run. Brunswick picked up two more runs in the third and after a single run by Elkton in the fourth, BRLL held a 4-2 lead through four innings. Brunswick struck for 6 runs in the fifth, the big hits being a Zack Via single and a 2-run double by Pearre. Elkton didn't quit and staged a late rally in the sixth but it wasn't enough.
RD 3 Tue, July 18, 5:00PM NW Washington (D3) 6 Brunswick (D2) 5
NW Washington scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to rally for a 6-5 victory. Ethan Houck went the first 4 2/3 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. He strckout 3 and walked 3. Lefty Nick Piermarini's 2-run double down the first base line put the Roaders on the board in the top of the first, 2-0,. Colin Pearre's 2-run double to the gap in rightcenter help them grad a 5-0 lead after two complete. NW scrated out 2 runs in the third and a single run in the fourth. Then with score 5-3 Brunswick in the bottom of the sixth with none on and two outs, NW struck for 3 runs, rallying for a 6-5 victory. Kadin Longerbeam had two hits for Brunswick.
RD 4 Wed, July 19, 5:30PM Fruitland (D8) 11 Brunswick (D2) 10
Brunswick was eliminated, 11-10 by Fruitland in an elimination bracket game. Fruitland jumped ou to an 11-0 lead with 1 out in thte top of the third when lefty hurler Nick Piermarini entered the game. Over the next 3 2/3 innings, Piermarini held the big bats of Fruitland to two hits and no runs. He struck out four and had only one base on balls. With Piermarini holding the opposition in check, the Railroaders started their valiant comeback. They got 3 runs back in the bottom of the third. With one out, Nate Borawshi and Justin Ricketts singled, Brady Renn ws hit by a pitch to load the bases. Colin Pearre then grounded to short to force Renn at second, scoring Borawski with the first run. An Ethan Houck base hit brought in 2 more to cut it to 11-3. In the fourth, 4 straight walks opened the inning to score a run before Noah Paschilided pulled a long fly down the first base line for a 2-run double and an 11-6 deficit. A sac fly by Brady Renn and a single to the gap in left by Pearre made it 11-8. In the bottom of the sixth, Borawski led off the inning with a walk and he scored on a triple down the first base line by Paschilides. Pearre got Paschilides home on a grounder to short to cut the lead to one. With two outs, Houck singles and advanced to third on a couple passed balls. Unfortunately, that was as far as he got when Fruitland got the third out and the victory. Paschilides had a double and triple and 3 RBI's. Houck had two singles and 2 RBI's. Borawski scored 3 times on a single and two walks.

The 10-12 team lost to a stacked Thurmont team that pounded 7 homers, 15-1. Thurmont hosted the game. Brunswick scored in the fourth when Devin O'Neill tripled and scored on a passed ball.
RD 3 Wed, June 28 East Frederick 6 @ Brunswick 4 ( 7 innings )
Host Brunswick lost a heartbreaker in seven innings to East Frederick, 6-4. The Railroaders rallied in their last at bat in regulation to tie the game, only to have East Frederick take the lead back in the seventh. Brunswick loaded the bases but was unable to score, ending their playoff run.

Host Brunswick lost to Frederick National at Brunswick High School in BRLL's first Senior Division District All-Star game, 5-0. four runs for Frederick were unearned in the tight game. Cody Cooper and Chase Ebberts had hits for the Railroaders.
RD 2 Fri, June 30, Frederick National 14 @ Brunswick 10
Host Brunswick lost to Frederick National in in game 2, 14-11, and were eliminated from the District tournament. FNLL jumped out to an early 9-1 lead but by the fifth inning the Railroaders had closed to within one run, 11-10. Frederick got three back in the top of the seventh and Brunswick's rally in their half of the inning fell short. Ryan Shaffer was 4 for 5 including a double. Chase Ebberts had 3 hits and Cody Cooper had 2 his with a double. Trevor Barnhouse also had a double for Brunswick.
